I'm toying with the idea of getting a sponser for XTimer, to help me continue to develop the program. The money received from registrations is very low considering the time involved planning, writing, and debugging the code. XTimer would continue to be a shareware product, but I would add a very brief splash screen mentioning the sponser (even designed by the sponser), at launch, and remove the current shareware screen. This screen would last no more than 1 second. It would need to be very brief to avoid being a nuisance to users; no use turning them off to the sponser. The sponser would also be presented in the About screen. Sponsership would be on a time limited basis, such as 1 year.
I would like to hear from anyone interested in this idea. Wether it be from a possible sponser or from users with opinions to express for or against the idea.
